Every time I see a butterfly I think of someone who is very far away. I reach out as if that butterfly were that person's life, and I want to retrieve, in order to find courage and life in myself. It's impossible, but hope keeps me trying. There is hope in that butterfly that flutters just out of reach. Though, if I catch it, everything might die out. There is fear in hope.
I know that sounds so corny, but it's true. This was a fluke. I was working on a CD cover and I manipulated one of the photos I had after isolating the hand. I then cut out a butterfly from another photo, played with contrast, brushes, and greyscale...and here it is. |
